I've been with Sabadell Bank since 2012 and I am happy with the service especially their excellent app.

I think it depends on the staff at each branch.  When we opened our Sabadell account 8 years ago in Almoradí, we had a lovely personal adviser, but when she went on maternity leave, the woman who took over was awful and we've being doing our level best to avoid going into the branch.  On the upside, Sabadell's online and mobile app offerings are excellent, so we've stuck with them - they also have the largest network of ATMs, which my husband likes.  He gets his State pension next year, so we're looking forward to them dropping the quarterly €20 account maintenance fee - although I bet I'll have to ask!

Kind regards,

Kim

I have banked with the Sabadell for many years. No problems whatsoever. Christine.

Likewise with BBVA, never had any issues at all!

Just wanted to say we came out 3 years ago and have banked with Sabadell since then with no major oroboems. A couple of small issues were cleared up by a trip to the bank branch.

Before we left the UK we lived in a village next to a small town. Our branch there closed with hardly any warning and no options of which branch to use. We had to travel 10 miles to pay in cos for our business and the bank was mainly unmanned. I’m just grateful we have a branch and faces we can talk ton

Try chatting to your branch manager to see why you are paying and if there’s a way around it. Much like UK banks, not every branch treats you the same.

If you bank with Wise there are no strings attached and it's free banking.

And no guarantee if something goes wrong. And a limit on withdrawals. Not such a good idea for permanent residents.

And just try opening a non resident account in UK. Here it's easy and, yes, you pay for the privilege.
