Don’t disagree in the least, but in the UK all travel entry restrictions end on 18 March whether vaccinated or not. That includes no longer having to fill in the passenger locator form. Right now you don’t even have to isolate if you prove positive for Covid. Mask wearing ! Up to the individu...

...al I suppose, meant to be compulsory in supermarkets and enclosed places, but not really being implemented. Be honest, we have to move forward. Europe will soon follow the UK with regard to restrictions I’m sure.

But unfortunately the rate is getting high again in the UK again since restrictions were all lifted. I know lots of people that are getting covid even after 3 jabs maybe not as seriously as if they not been vaccinated but still very uncomfortable and sick. I think common sense tells you to wear a mask especially in winter in enclosed spaces where everyone is coughing and sneezing even if it's just a common cold or chest infection. Also if you have a cold I think it's just respectful to wear one. It does no harm. 🤷‍♀️

Hi Fairy108,

I agree.  When you look at how aerosol emissions spread coronavirus, it's easy to understand how masks protect us.  However, their efficacy is severely impacted by those who refuse to wear them and those who don't wear them properly, which is why individual country infection rates is no...

...t an accurate measure of their efficacy.  The best that we can do, along with other precautions such as sanitising our hands, is to wear an FFP2 mask which, unlike FFP1s, protects ourselves as well as others.

Stay safe,

Kim

Absolutely agree with you, I always wear FFP2 mask, it provides protection for others, but more importantly it protects the wearer.

I still see people wearing masks under their noses,  or fabric masks which are baggy, hanging off of peoples faces !

Yes me too you'd think they'd know how to wear them properly by now 🙄

Coughs 'n sneezes spread diseases. 1960's. Mum said, "cover your mouth."

I still carry a "hanky"

["As for the return of masks in exterior spaces, Mario Fontán, from the Spanish Epidemiology Society, sums it up: “It’s more a cosmetic measure than an effective one for stopping the virus.”]

["This is a measure that can help to make people aware that we are in a pandemic, but apart from this education I can’t see any benefits
Magda Campins, head of epidemiology at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital."]

Some will still "dingle-dangle" their mascarillas over their wrists, necks, bar tables etc...etc & "feel" secure.

Ahh well I guess it's personal choice. I was at Benidorm market on Sunday most people were wearing masks which was good as quite often your up close and personal to people but there were people without just coughing away and it made me feel uncomfortable as covid is still out there

Hi Karen,

For every epidemiologist and virologist who says masks aren't effective, you'll find at least that many who say they are:

I don't typically wear them outdoors, but like you, I would certainly wear one at our Sunday market, which is busier than a restaurant lunch service on a Sunday, LOL!

Kind regards,

Kim

The majority of experts agree that masks are useful, cases are rising sharply now in the UK, hospitalisations are increasing at an alarming rate too. Be careful it's still very much with us and the next variant could be worse.

Along the same lines, Juan Antonio Sanz, spokesman for the Spanish Society of Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Health Management (Sempsph), thinks, who suggests starting this withdrawal from Easter.

In the same way, the removal of masks indoors is already a reality in countries such as the United Kingdom, Denmark or Iceland. On the other hand, France and Belgium have also announced the end of this restriction, although they will maintain the measure as mandatory in public transport.

Thus, public transport is another of the places where experts point out that the mask must remain mandatory : "It is one of the things that scares me the most ," says Juan Antonio Sanz, from Sempsph, who is committed to leave this area out of the massive removal of masks.

Even so, it is important to highlight that the end of indoor masks will not prevent anyone from wearing them if they consider it appropriate

More or less all restrictions have been lifted here in Canada, no more masks, no more vaccine passports, no more quota restrictions in clubs and restaurants, events, no more vaccine mandates, etc.

Our Premier is calling it "open for business" !

I think cases might have gone up a bit, but we no longer get updates.

All restrictions have ended in the UK but infections have gone through the roof to record levels, 1 in 11 now have the virus.
