I don’t agree with you as the Spanish flu was a long time ago and people then didn’t have the knowledge that we have today + this second wave everyone is on about cannot be worse than the first as we have all learnt a lot about this virus, and will be more aware now that we have all learnt from government advise.

I agree the gutter press are scoring their political points, I was hoping not to get involved in a discussion about politics but as the usual suspects which I won’t mention keep bringing their dislike, or even hatred for our Country and our politicians then I feel I have to have my say. Dominic Cummings is employed by the Prime Minister and not elected, just as you or I would employ someone to assist us maybe he shouldn’t have travelled the 260 miles but who knows what we would do, if it was my child and I thought I needed assistance then not only would I break the rules I would break the law, and I wouldn’t tell anybody about it.
I’ve noticed on this thread and other threads that people are calling Boris and his government names I get your not Tory supporters but You have become hateful towards him, because of your political allegiances, you sound like football supporters hating the opposing team and wanting to punch their lights out and that makes you no better than them
So you all want Dominic Cummings to be hung drawn and quartered for putting his child first in the early days of this terrible pandemic and not because he is Boris,s close advisor and you dislike the Government. And like I’ve said he may or may not have broken the rules but no one has mentioned the following and called for their heads to roll.
Steven kinnock Labour MP and wife ex Prime minister of Denmark visits his father and mother Lord and Lady Kinnock ex Labour Party leader, travelling from South Wales for birthday wishes a blatant disregard of the lockdown rules all we got was tweet from the police saying he shouldn’t have done, but critics said the police were overzealous in publicly criticising the MP
Tahir Ali Labour MP travels to Birmingham to attend a large funeral and attended two services and is accused of endangering lives by the police for ignoring lock down measures and then has the cheek to say the message is not getting through about social distancing, not criticised by main stream media.
The group of gutter press surrounding Cummings, the people on the beach yesterday should they all be sacked with those above I don’t know, but come on if we’re going to criticise let’s be fair and unbiased and no matter what our political views and feelings are we are British and have come through worse than this horrible pandemic. Keep safe everyone

I would say that everyone is entitled their opinion that is what constitutes healthy debate ,although at times I'm at a loss to reconcile people trying to come up with reasons for peoples actions .,when these actions are clearly indefensible. I have watched and listened to many tv and radio programmes since the start of the pandemic hit the UK ,the only constant that the government has offered is never to admit a mistake in their handling and never to criticize a fellow government minister no matter their performance , I often wonder why tv and radio presenters interview said ministers as we all know what their reply will be

Sorry cant agree with your ascertation regarding BBC being anti government at this time .Government ministers happy to appear on Beeb where they know they will get an easy time ,contrast with GMB where they will not appear unless they dont like tea or coffee.at GMB
Don’t agree with that, I had the displeasure of watching question time a while back, carefully selected guest and questions , the Tory mp was attacked from beginning to the end. Absolutely disgraceful it was, the bbc including its reporters have agenda against this current govt. Regarding the media/press. I think it poignant to mention sadly what happened to Caroline flack once the press harassed her and maybe princess di before that. Something should be done !

Certainly not political allegiance as far as I'm concerned. I speak as I see ,I never thought Boris Johnson as a statesman and his performance has been just short of criminal ,even now his easing of lockdown is devoid of information ,certain schools to go back on.1st June ,no I fo on how to keep as safe as possible ,Boris knows best ,better than parents ,headteachers and tutors ,then why is he keeping info to himself ,il tell you why ,he hasnt a clue

Hi Ray, I have read all you have put or have listened to it on the news, I agree with some of your points, but to say the press are telling their viewers fact is in my opinion a lot of nonsense to say they are not biased is also nonsense, this is a witch hunt against the government you see it every day when they come out with there stupid and underhand questions.
If they’re not biased tell me why hasn’t Starmer been hounded by the press about Kinnock, Tahir Ali, Gethin Jones the welsh health minister and even the first minister of Wales I’m sure you get the picture all Labour so if we criticise and hound one let’s do the same for all or put this to bed.
If everyone was sacked for breaking lockdown then the country would never recover.

The children of essential workers have not stopped going to school So I think they have an idea of how to implement these things. You do seem to know a lot about Boris though. The problem is that parents who won’t send their children back to school are the parents who were sat on the beach yesterday without a thought of social distancing they are the irresponsible adults on this particular subject not our Boris.
