Let them who have not had an argument with their wives partners pick up that stone, we’ve all had one or two doesn’t make it abusive if the police were called every time someone had an argument they’d be inundated.

And no I do not condone abuse of any sort.

I don’t know how they define abuse, I have had many arguments with my girlfriend but I would never raise my hands to her, she would kill me ...

Suspect the U.K. government would be quite happy to see al the folks stop at home and bluster the U.K. tourism industry and watch an Irish airline suffer at the same time. BA flights tend to be more reliant on commercial travel which the quarantine rules will not apply to than tourism and Easy Jet I suspect will be bailed out if needed. The only losers in this will be foreign destinations and airlines not getting the U.K. wads of cash. Not sure that will bother the UK government to much.

Because there is no instant test. Plus, and I may be wrong on this, but I believe this is the case, that you can still be a carrier of the virus but test negative. But mostly, because there isn't an instant test. Even if there was, how would it work?

Again, I'm not 100% on this, but the average Easyjet plane has 180 seats. Heathrow has about 1800 planes a day landing. Let's knock that number right back to 300 a day on average per airport. That's 54,000 people a day to be tested in airports. Can you even begin to imagine the infrastructure nee...

...ded for such an undertaking, not to mention the delays it would cause?

It's neither feasible or even possible to test people coming in.

Again, I've figures to hand, but the percentage of "business" that requires free-flowing international travel to operate I would guess is tiny, far less than 1% I'd suggest. So, the quarantine restrictions will have a minimal effect on business in general, and people getting back, and so the economy.

My usual caveat: I'm not supporting the decision, or the government, or anything, just trying to give you an answer, but that may well be wrong.

Why don’t they do countries such as Kazakhstan are doing even if you want to travel by air internally or internationally you can only do so if you have a doctor’s certificate valid for only 48 hours and have an instant temperature test before you are allowed on the aircraft

This way the cost and timing of testing is down to the passenger no certificate no travel simple

To put people into 14 days guaranteeing is costly and most inconvenient both for the government and the individuals

Why cover the cost of those who travel to UK without any proof they are not infected beside what happens to the crew do they also have to go to self isolation for 14 days!!

How is that going to work for the airlinex

Only an arrogant and totally selfish person like DC would come up with such an idiotic story line like that

We can now see how good folks in UK were duped by this man and the clown they call BOJO!! God help the fantastic people of UK who are being led by these two one a super arrogant and the other his muppet

And how by sending old people who were already infected with CV from their hospital beds to old people’s homes which helped spread the virus in these places hence over 40% of all fatalities in UK attributed to these homes with more to come I am sure

Because of the unelected press and tax payer funded BBC are trying to damage a democratically elected government in what ever way they can twist a story to do so. I’m afraid the time has now come to kerb the press in the U.K. so that they can get back to standard factual news reporting not sensationalism to aid either there self serving political agenda or circulation numbers to aid advertising sales.

Sorry  cant agree with your ascertation regarding BBC being anti government  at this time .Government ministers happy to appear on Beeb where they know they will get an easy time ,contrast with GMB where they will  not appear unless they dont like tea or coffee.at GMB
