Thank you very much. Something else to consider. We have bought some of the electronic deterrent plug ins which are meant to effect roaches as well. Really good advice.

Good luck & as above:

I still have selection of the pluggy-in thingys!. I bought them years ago. They have a nice red flashing light etc. The first time I put it in the socket to stop flies/mossies & an array of other uninvited creatures, a fly flew in & landed on it. (it may have been deaf!). It may be good for some things,I have doubts. They are still there flashing away. I´ve had no problems with Elephants, (may be frightened of mice).

Oh no. My worst nightmare! I now hope they are mice! Anyway. Have installed electronic things which are meant to deal with cockroaches also. Thank you for your advice (even though I will now have nightmares!)

Poison and traps definitely and once you think you’ve got rid of them try using peppermint oil to dissuade them from coming back in. Just a few drops on a cotton wool ball in cupboards etc works a treat.

I have cats...and have never seen a mouse in 17 years. If you want to get rid of them from your house please use a humane trap and release the mice in a remote area such as the Rio Seco. Poison is a very cruel and painful death.

We have a mice or cockroaches problem in our apartment. We also found some dead cockroaches in the toilet and livingroom. The feces look small and black like sprinkles. How do we know if there are mice or cockroaches? Every help is welcome

We have been in our house for 5 weeks now. Just yesterday noticed mice droppings on the kitchen worktop and today behind and even on a bed! Can anyone advise? Is this a common problem? Should we put some poison down? Or wait to see if it happens again? It / they may have just been passing through...

...? There is absolutely no food etc accessible to entice them in.

By the way, I hate Mice, verging on a phobia!!!

We were away for 2 months and a rat chewed through a water pipe and electric lead to the washing machine, the water flooded to a bottom bedroom, soaking the mattress, it chewed all the washing machine rubber inside.Electric cut off and made a nest with some tea towels in the back of the fridge. Don't leave it to chance and ensure you have got rid of the mice, it may cost a lot with electricians and replacing white goods if they still live in your home !
