Yes. We moved to Playa Flamenca last November. Lloyds, HMRC, and Pension all send post to Spain. However, please don't expect a speedy delivery. Our post can take up to 5 weeks, but it probably depends on where you are exactly. It is very hit and miss!

Best of luck moving.

Hi Phyllis,

Well, our lawyer did all the running around for us. It's a simple process but can take some time. We moved in Nov but didn't get our SIP cards until Feb. The main delay was that 3 months bank statements were required, to prove our pensions. The online ones don't show name and address, so we had to wait for paper ones from UK. You will get a plastic SIP card which shows the name of a doctor and a nurse. All the doctors are at the medical centre in Cabo  Roig. While I was waiting for the card, I was able to buy my medicines without a prescription, quite cheaply. The pharmacia is at La Zenia Boulevard. The staff there are very helpful and speak perfect English.

Hope this helps, but please ask away if you need to. This forum is invaluable to us newbies!

Thanks I'll keep you up to that you might get fed up of hearing from me but it's really helpful to find someone who's recently moved.  Thanks again

Regards

Hi Phyllis,

Congratulations! Yes, we bought our TV with us, no problems at all. You will need to contact a provider though to get any English channels. It's very hard to decide which company to choose from. I would suggest that you ask around and find someone who has been happy with what they've got for a couple of years. However, it is much cheaper here to get all channels including Sky. There are loads of packages that cover phone, Broadband and TV. 🍾🍻😎👍

Moved to  Gran Alacant in November and had no problem registering for a doctor once we had our NIE cards which only took a couple of visits to Elche Police HQ.   If you have your S1 form from UK makes it much easier.  Simply went to doctors office and was given a temporary SIP right away.  Since then we have both had hospital visits, I had injections for athritic knee and my husband has had his catarracts done.  Very speedy system but you do need someone who speak Spanish to receive the telephone calls as most hospital appointments after the first one made by your GP are made over the phone directly from the hospital.
