Hi all

I will be collecting a friend from Alicante airport on 1st June. Has anybody done this recently? Am I allowed to wait for him in the arrivals hall? If not, where can we meet?

Thanks

Steve

Hi  Not sure if you can go into airport now but previously only passengers could be in the airport terminal building. You could wait away from the airport and get them to ring when they are ready to be picked up (this can take some time also as they are checking peoples documents etc) at the departures parking which allows 10 mins without charge I usually tell my visitors to wait at Costa Coffee outside the terminal building.  Also keep a check on the roadworks as they say there could be closures for up to 3 months on the road to the airport and approx 12 km detour to add onto your time.  This is my experience to date and like everything else could change overnight!!!!  hope this helps   Gillian

Beware of pickpockets etc. in the car pìck-up area  Keep always a close eye on all your belongings.

Re. the detour. I did the run last Saturday. It's well sign posted, and is less than 3km on the way back. No problem going in.

The best bet for meeting people is to use the multi-story car park and walk across the bridge to the terminal.  If you stop on the top (departures) level you do not get long before you have to move on.

I have done a few flights from there recently and walked into the terminal without any problems.
