First time visitor and travelling alone - Page 2

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm wondering how you enjoyed your visit and if you bought a property in Spain? I'm a single 68 year old woman and I'm very pleased that I completed on my quad villa in Playa Villa on 26th October. I so nearly did n't. I chose the wrong lawyer and had a very stressful experience with her.  The lawyer did a presentation at a 'Place in the Sun' exhibition I went to before visiting Torreveija. I've loved Spain for many years but I hadn't visited the area before and was very naive. I didn't see my house until the day before I left.  I got so much support from this forum. I really don't think I could have done it without two particular people who post on here together with supportive.messages from many others.

I've been smiling since I got home last Thursday. I hope you do decide to buy. I wish you the best of luck. I'm still living in camp London for the moment. It would be good to hear how you got on.

Hello Carol

It's really not so daunting as you might think. I came out here a couple of years ago and soon settled in. In this area there are a lot of Brits (I am up near Villamartin) but here's a tip. This area is a bit......hilly. My place is on the top of a particularly steep one but I never even thought about it when I was house-hunting. Now faced with it, I kinda wish I'd noticed before!! At 59 it's fine now as I use it as an exercise machine!! But who knows what the future brings. My point is, I really think you will need a car. Buses are not terribly frequent! Just be aware.

Other than that............like others have said, it's ok here!
