Playa flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo roig and a few other towns are all very close to one another and close to the beaches.

Look online at agencies, you will find that they are all selling more or less the same properties, personally I can’t recommend inmoinvestments enough.

Note the ones that really aPeal to you and list them for viewing otherwise you will spend days being shown properties you don’t like.

Steve

Thank you Steve, I am looking on inmoinvestments now

Decide what your priorities are whether it's bars restaurants beaches quiet life etc and then decide what is your minimum required for a property. When we started looking we will certainly wanted at least two bedrooms and two bathrooms and wanted to be near the centre of Playa flamenca. but with that comes compromise because it's expensive. We ended up buying a properly that needed considerable Renovations but we thought was out of our League first of all.

The problem we found is that most of the online estate agents Tend To Be the very well known ones with the houses that are maybe slightly more expensive than some of the other agents. unfortunately in our experience there is no substitute for leg work getting there and looking around. some agents just put telephone numbers on boards and don't advertise on any national or international websites. Having said that if you find a really good agent and tell them exactly what you were looking for they usually find a really good property even if it's not advertised with them. we ended up buying through inmo investments and used Marcel and Shelly and they were incredibly helpful and lovely people. We have now bought other properties via them as they know exactly what we looking for.

Solicitors are a nightmare even the Independent ones they have one pace and it's very slow. Generally the communication is also very poor as they assume you will not understand the complexities of the Spanish property market. However there is incredible competition and if you ask some locals that you meet including on this forum and the same name keeps coming up you can be pretty sure they are reliable. There's also a UK register Spanish lawyers who are regulated and registered in Spain which should give some peace of mind.

Redmalc.

That's easier said than done, we just purchased the ideal apartment in la zenia, we used several agents all offering the same places at different prices, however, we liked inmoinvestments in la zenia, so, so helpful, patient and polite.

I spotted 'our' apartment on their website and added it to our shortlist before we went over....nothing else could match it for the price, condition and especially location (5 min walk to beach and boulevard). We decided to low ball an offer of €10,000 on an already low and reduced price, inmoinvestments negotiated on our behalf and the offer was accepted!!

Then, our independent lawyer ( and you must ask me for her details if you get fixed up....she is awesome and works for 'cash' 😜) over and above service.

Info and our lawyer teamed up with our bank manager and the three of them did everything.....so, so simple, relatively cheap and so smooth.

Hi, we are also moving soon and are looking for recommendations of a lawyer, please may I ask who you used

Thank you jan

Hi jan,

yes a young enthusiastic English speaking and very well educated in current law young lady called Carmen conojero in torrevieja, she has her own law firm ‘Blau solicitors’ her husband and brother are lawyers.

She is very trustworthy and we even gave her power of attorney and she did everything for us. Definitely did not take advantage and even used her positionhe to help us out for free when we had a theft and the local police were unhelpful.

She also sorted our wills (important to do this according to English law).

She was not expensive and we now feel very comfortable that our purchase is well protected as she is the kind of person who crosses all t’s and dots all i’s.

Her contact number is: +34 609 31 84 55

If you would kindly mention a recommendation from Steve and Cheryl in La zenia ......I’m confident she will look after you.

Let me know how you get on.

Steve

Hi, noted you comments on the site, could you tell me which development you purchased in, what you purchased and if you could round about the price you paid.  Thanks Sandra
