Hi Everyone

Can someone please advise which is the best agency through which to pay non resident tax. I have 3 agencies listed on my phone. There is also a larger amount of 164 euro which I normally pay. The email SUMA have sent does not mention this amount.. Can someone please advise if  this tax been cancelled?

I'm normally able to translate the content of the email via 'Google translate' however the link I click on now only takes me to translate short phrases. Is anyone aware of an alternative system I could use?

Thanks so much everyone for your help. I love having the house but getting my head round these ever changing systems seems to get harder as I get progressively longer in the tooth.

Suma do not deal with Non resident tax.  You need to complete form Modelo 210 and send it to Agency Tributaria.

Download the photo translator app. You take a photo of the document and it translates it all for you we use it all the time ...

https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es is the agency that collects taxes for Spanish Revenue/Hacienda. You have to lodge your non-resident tax with them by 31st December each year. Each person on the deeds must make a return. The tax is apportioned equally amongst however many are listed on the deeds. There are companies that will complete your Modelo 210 and pay it for you or you can pay it yourself at a bank in Spain with your completed Modelo 210. This is one such company https://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/

If you are a UK Resident the Non Resident tax will be 2% of your Cadastral value multiplied by 24% for Non-EU or 19% for EU Residents.

The other tax is your IBI/property rates and SUMA collect that on behalf of your Town Hall. You generally set up a Direct Debit with SUMA to pay this. It is calculated from the Cadastral value of your property multiplied by the rate struck by the Town Hall. Generally between .40 and 1.1%

Hi Bee2

Thanks very much for your really detailed reply. I'll take a look at Mondelo 210 as I'm planning to come to Spain in October. Angar management have done it for me in the past and also someone called Lesley.

I have the suma details now. Thanks for advice re setting up direct debit.

Thanks again.
