Check how many days you are charged for on bill, can vary by a few days

My highest month electricity bill over winter was €68 total but we are South facing, we only used half a bottle of gas for the heater. It all depends, different people have different needs.

Probably more than your rent payment.

Just been looking at my UK monthly direct debits. Council tax £193, gas and electricity £161, water £41, telephone and internet £30. Roll on retirement to Spain!
Hi, check on your bill if you are also paying about 7 euros for appliance insurance. When we bought our apartment we found that we were automatically signed up to Iberdrola on a high tariff including this extra charge. Even when we're not there the bills were always over 40 euros for approx 28 days. The appliance insurance is optional but no one told us and we thought it was a service charge. We tried to change to the night tariff as it would have been cheaper but Iberdrola said we couldn't be changed! We have recently changed to Energy Nordic who estimate that our bill will be approx 28 euros when the apartment is unoccupied. A considerable saving worth bearing in mind
We are with Foxenergie on 5.5KW and it's about 30eu a month when not occupied.
Joanne, we have just changed so as yet don't know how it will work out but they were well recommended on the forum. I googled Energy Nordic.com and completed an online enquiry form for a quote on their website We were then asked to supply some details and to scan and send one of our recent bills so that they could see what tariff we were paying and prepare the best deal for us. We had a few phone calls with an English rep of the company who was very helpful. To be honest any saving that we can have on our Iberdrola bill is welcome, it just seemed to be getting more and more expensive and we aren't even living there. We had to make an advance payment equivalent to one month's electricity cost but this is refunded if you leave and is less than the difference we would be paying over 2 months. It's worth enquiring and no pressure sales.

Electricity is very expensive here. Will you use electricity for heat? My townhome is I heated and I bought an electric heater for one room. My bill last month was over 300 euros. So prepare yourself..,
