This is very serious stuff.

With this sort of despicable and destructive behaviour surely revoking A50 has to be the only option remaining.

To hell with the Brexiteers and let them rage, if they support this chicanery then they forfeit any right to a say.

It's possible the UK might be on the verge/ pathway to a deal after positive meetings this week. Many will hope the outcome is a good one and we can move to the next base. Negotiating the future trade deal.

To be honest I sincerely believe that the EU now want to move on too as with the UK in it's so caustic given the differing visions for the future.

I watched a fair bit of the EU parliament session yesterday - think the footage was from the 9th and the focus was on exchanges between Guy V, a labour MEP, a Lib Dem and numerous Brexit party bods. It's becoming an extension of the HoC over there and that must frustrate those who want to get on with the EU project.

I imagine there will be a need for compromise and that extends to those who see themselves as remainers and leavers aswell, as the terms of our exit are hammered out.

I’d still like someone to write down what the benefits of leaving will be?

To hell with Brexiteers.

To hell with remoaners.

All you think about on here is how it will affect you, who have chosen to live in another country.

How your pension will be affected.

Basically Me, Me ,Me

We voted to leave to better our mother country and benefit the people who live there.

No one was voting to make it better for the British foreigners who chose to leave and live in other countries. But here you are still whingeing and whining about how it will affect you, here.

Britain's Independence Day 31st October is fast approaching and there will be a massive party held at my house for my remainer friends and brexiteers. 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Please explain clearly so we may understand, exactly how voting to leave will ‘better our mother country etc’?

Because, so far, there is little evidence of any possible benefit, and I’d like to know, I really would.

Blue passports, made in France, we could have had any colour we wanted anyway.

Fish, oh no sorry because we sold our quotas to the pesky Europeans, and what we do catch is mostly sold to the rest of Europe, which will become more difficult after Brexit.

Who says everyone on here is resident in Spain?

https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/brexit/brexit-no-deal-benefits-positive-consequences-uk-leaving-eu-explained-496259

Since you asked.

I did actually vote for Brexit mainly on the grounds of Sovereignity and allowing elected UK MPs decide British law. However, having seen the way that many of our Elected MPs have behaved over Brexit, I have now come to the conclusion having European MEPs decide our law would be no worse.

As a democracy I think the only fair way to move ahead now would be to have a second referendum. In my opinion there should be three choices, (1) Leave with No Deal, (2) Leave with whatever the Final deal available is or (3) Stay.

If Stay gets over 50%, then we stay. However, clearly those people who prefer to leave will have their vote split  between options 1 and 2. To make it fair to those who prefer to leave, if you vote for number 1 option, then you need to have a second preference of your vote moving to either option 2 or 3, if option 1 doesn't get over 50%. If you vote for option 2, then you also need to have a second preference of either 1 or 3, if option 2 doesn't get over 50%.  This would then take into account those people who prefer to Leave only with a no deal, but stay otherwise. Also it takes into account those that prefer to leave with a deal, but stay otherwise. Seems complicated, and maybe need some explaining, but the ballot would look something like this

1. Leave with the agreed deal, second choice leave with No deal

2. Leave with the agreed deal, second choice, do not leave without a deal, stay

3. Leave without a deal, second choice, leave with the agreed deal

4. Leave without a deal, second choice, leave with the agreed deal, stay

5 Stay

I know Brexiteers will say we have already voted for leave and that should be honoured. At the time of the original vote though, many people voted on incorrect assumptions of what the final deal would be. Knowing what the final deal will be shortly (if there is one) will mean people can vote knowing the full facts.

The country needs to pull together and a second vote in my opinion will be the best way forward to unite Remainers and Brexiteers. A second binding vote would hopefully put this to bed for the majority of people.
