Picking up belonging is no issue as the council provides loading/unloading permits for such purpose. Before you think in selling, you will have to go through inheritance procedures and register as the sole owner of the property. You must file an inhertiance declaration with the Spanish revenue not later than 6 months to avoid fines and late fees. If there is no Spanish will, you will need  any British title(s) to be translated by a sworn interporeter and have it all legalized, a complicated and time wasting matter no to forget expenses, fees, etc. Avoiding double taxation is another issue impossible to explain here in every detail. Should you have any joimt bank account in Spain, withdraw alle the money w/o letting the bank know about the the decease. Don't try to close the account as this would mean blocking all assets. Wishing you a Happy New Year. PM me for any more questions you may have.

Can’t offer you any more advise, but I was really sad to read this, and just wanted to say I am really sorry for your loss.
