Hello all, we are planning to move to the Elche area next spring. Currently we are living in the Netherlands.

We are a family of 4 with two kids and 3 dogs (B&T Jack Russells).

We'd like to buy a house on "the campo" with a pool, a good amount of ground and the chance to start a B&B. If anyone has a suggestion for houses please let me know. We also need to be informed about the legal challenges of opening a B&B, i know that in the Valencia area that is next to impossible so i fear for the Elche area.

One kid is 16 and needs to go to school, next may she is getting her (high)school diploma, we are looking for an international school to get her enroled to (she needs to get schooled in Spannish as well).

Since Covid i have to work from home, it doesnt really matter where i work since most of my projects can be done tru teams. Thing is i need excellent internet connection. When i need to get to the Netherlands i'll fly in and out, there are enough airports in the area.

We already started a Spannish language course so we can communicate in Spannish and English (and of course in Dutch).

Please feel free to give advise!

Regards Barry

Hi, I am Anabella, and I am new to Elche. I am googling Elche for info, but I don't find that much on these. Just two questions: which areas in Elche are prone to flooding? Which are the good neighborhoods to live in Elche? I am researching to buy there. Thank you.

Hi Annabel,  i would try to avoid low laying areas near rivers or streams.

I dont think there were a lot floodings the last few years because of draught.
