So what will that change?

Ahh That is different from the instructions on the Gov.uk site for entering Spain. That says "one of the following"

Testing and vaccination requirements for arrivals from the UK

From 2 July 2021, the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry one of the following:

  • documentation certifying that you have undertaken a COVID-19 nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT - e.g. PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR) within 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain and tested negative. Antigen tests are only accepted in certain limited circumstances as outlined in section ‘k’ of the ‘Entry requirements for entry in Spain from third countries’ on the Spanish Ministry of Health ‘Travel and COVID-19’ page (see information on limited exceptions below).

  • proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival in Spain (date(s) of vaccination must be specified), with a vaccine authorised by the European Medicines Agency or by the World Health Organisation

Exactly  - Who Knows what will happen! Crystal Ball at the ready!

Busy watching the news updates at the moment.

If Spain is put on the amber plus list and given the same rules as France, then anyone  travelling from Spain to the U.K. will have to quarantine regardless of their vaccination status and take Day 2 and 8 tests.

France immediately changed the rules saying all  unvaccinated people arriving from the U.K. had to produce a PCR test within 24 hours of departure, making it extremely awkward for people to travel to France.

Missed an important factor. We are full spanish residents but are visiting the UK. It is the requirement from UK to Spain which we need to watch, not the other way round. From UK to Spain it is as I posted before. Spain is on the amber list so day 2 and 8 is compulsory as is 10 day isolation at home.

Spain is Amber so day 2 and 8 tests must be purchased, not just day 2. I used Testing for All and they were prompt and efficient. Paid £95 for both tests. You test at home and then use a Royal Mail priority Post Box to return them. Results were also very prompt. Their website is https://www.testingforall.org

Before you travel to England you must:

take a COVID-19 test – children aged 10 and under do not need to take this testbook and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in Englandcomplete a passenger locator form

You are of course correct and this is what we have just done when we returned to the uk on the 20th but Nikki is a Spanish resident therefore, at the moment the old rules apply for them.

Has anyone done the 5 day test to release? I'm hoping to do this.
