Yes.   It’s all changing from Tuesday 04:00. You have to isolate until you receive a negative result from the PCR test you have to do on day 2. You are required to isolate until you do the test too.    So basically.  Isolate. Do the test on day 2. Only go out if negative res...

...ult is received. And HAS TO BE A PCR now.    The Gov website will update the passenger locater forms Tuesday.
here we go again.  Let’s hope they have caught it in time for Christmas to be a little more normal than last year 🤞🏼

Fully vaccinated have to do a PCR test “before the end of day 2” (taken directly off the government website) so you can take it on day 0 (the day you land) or the next day or the day after. I have booked mine earlier, it will be there when I get home next week so I will take it that day and hopefully get the result the next day so I will only have to isolate for a day.

Because you do not have to have a test before you fly

They should bring back testing before you fly even if its a LFT

Agree with this but the government should clamp down on the greedy suppliers if these tests who instead of wanting to support and help us all only go and put the prices up as soon as they see that a lot more people are going to have to test!

Hi Harvest, I also pre-booked my test kit to be at home when I arrived back on the 8th Nov unfortunately it didn't arrive until the 9th Nov, carried out the test and posted on the 9th Nov but the result didn't arrive until the 12th Nov so that would have end up 5days isolation so please don't bank on a quick return of the test

Thanks to all for your supportive messages.  However, I’ve just read UK news this morning and it looks like I will have to self isolate if I fly back next Friday, take a test on day 2 and wait until I have the all clear before I can go anywhere!  I may now have to consider cancelling ...

...my trip! Will be glued to the UK news all week.  Very worrying if another virus is spreading.

Hi, we fly tomorrow Thurs 2nd

if double vaccinated you have to show your covid passport, you have to book a PCR test to be taken WITHIN 2 days of arriving in the UK and isolate until you get the result. We are taking ours at the airport when we land to reduce the time we have to isolate, we are flying to Manchester and using Randon, cost 55 GBP, if you type in FLYRYANAIR in the promotional code box, you get 5GBP off

this test has to be booked before you go and the code they supply put on your property locator form

the property locator form can be started but not completed until 2 days before you fly, its easy but may need a few attempts so give yourself time. You can upload your covid passport here, if it wont accept it, select the no option and make sure you take it with you..I took a picture of mine on the phone, enlarged the QR code and it scanned ok

you do not need to take any test before you fly if you are double vaccinated and not departing from a red country.

if not vaccinated, you will need different criteria

for return journey, you need to fill in a spanish property locator form, again within 2 days of flying back, you do not need to take any tests or isolate, but you must be double vacc'd. If you are resident of Spain there are exceptions

hope this helps

just to confirm, you do not have to wait until day 2 to take the test, you can do it the minute you land, you normally get results by midnight next day, so only one day of isolation, unless of course you test positive

We fly back tomorrow at 11:05, no test pre flight, but a day two PCR test booking reference is required, and this booking ref has to be entered on the passenger locator form.

The biggest trouble with Randox is that you have to take your package to a collecting point. My nearest was 20 miles away.

Plus our package arrived on day 2, too late to use on day 2. (5 days from order)

Their process was difficult to to understand too.

Also they were the company who paid £100k to the mp Paterson for 'advice'.

Not using Randox again.

So we next used "screen4", it arrived promptly and you simply take the  package to a nearby post box. Results emailed within 48 hours of posting.

£50 each including return post. Using them again.
