I think you can have the PCR test as soon as you arrive in the UK, it says on or before the 2nd day. We fly on the 20th December and I have booked mine for the same day.

You only need to have a day 2 PCR test in the UK but you do have to isolate until you receive your negative result.

Thanks to all for your supportive messages. However, I’ve just read UK news this morning and it looks like I will have to self isolate if I fly back next Friday, take a test on day 2 and wait until I have the all clear before I can go anywhere! I may now have to consider cancelling ...

...my trip! Will be glued to the UK news all week. Very worrying if another virus is spreading.
There is so much confusion.
We are going to UK on 5 December
I had bought lateral flow 2 weeks ago delivered to UK. Thought I was all organised. How wrong was I.
Now need PCRs. Contacted company I'd used and ordered them yesterday. Family have been in touch to say they were there at 2pm today.
The company told me to keep the lateral flow tests as we will be able to use them in the future if/when the goalposts move again so at least my 2×£18 isn't down the pan!
You can take the test immediately you get home. The phrase "day 2 PCR" gives the impression that you have to wait but you don't. With the company I've used we have to post it off (only accepted at certain post offices) --not quite sure how you're supposed to do this while self isolating if you have no-one to take them for you. Either I'm missing something or it's not been thought through by the powers that be. Results"promised" next day. So🤞
I used Arrivaldiagnostics.co.uk
Hope this helps.

You have to use a Royal Mail priority postbox to send them to the lab, which seems to be just about most postboxes as far as I can tell. The rules do allow you to go out to post your test samples back.
Aitch.
I live in the uk and was flying to Spain for Xmas but now can’t.
The rules that came in in the uk will be reviewed on the 18th Dec.
Currently you have to take a day 2 PCR test in the uk and self isolate till you get the results. As you have to isolate I assume you will need to get someone to post the test back for you. Most post boxes are priority but if you go on Royal Mail website you can put your postcode in and it will tell you the closest priority post box.
Hope that helps.

aitch you cannot use any royal mail post boxes, certain Post Offices in your are are allocated special priority boxes to place the test kits in, my wife tried to hand our over the counter but they are not allowed to touch them you'll have to check online for the closest to where you live, nothing is easy is it

I did say you had to use RM priority postboxes, If you put your post code into the Royal Mail site below you will see there are lots of post boxes that are "priority boxes".

The biggest trouble with Randox is that you have to take your package to a collecting point. My nearest was 20 miles away.
Plus our package arrived on day 2, too late to use on day 2. (5 days from order)

Their process was difficult to to understand too.
Also they were the company who paid £100k to the mp Paterson for 'advice'.
Not using Randox again.
So we next used "screen4", it arrived promptly and you simply take the package to a nearby post box. Results emailed within 48 hours of posting.
£50 each including return post. Using them again.
I also used randox however I ordered my pcr test morning and they arrived next day. I arrived back from Spain last weekend did test Sunday dropped it in pick up location (admittedly 12 miles away) but was able to drive myself so wouldn't be a problem for isolating. Received email Sunday evening confirming they had my sample in lab for testing and received an email Monday morning confirming negative result and cost was £34.so unlike others my experience with randox was first class.
Can anyone show me where I can find the dates for the current travel restrictions to spain?
EasyJet are refusing to refund me as they are saying these restrictions will be reviewed on the 16th Dec, but I thought they started 1st Dec till 31st Dec, just can’t find anything confirming this so I can go back to EasyJet.
Thanks

Hi Samwu
there was a post from Kimmy11 a few days ago - New regulations for entry to Spain from 1st December 2021.
There were links in the post to the source of the info.
I suspect Easyjet are trying to delaying paying you a refund.
