Sabadell for some reason blocked our account, we called from the uk and they removed the block saying it was a clerical error.

However we had three monthly electric bills and our community charge unpaid. We went to Iberdola offices in Torrevieja the next time we were at our house explained the situation and they were fine and resubmitted the bills to be paid. The community charge went through 2 months late. .

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but I am in England.  Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Hi,

Thank you.  It would be so much easier if I was in Spain, but it is difficult to communicate with the bank from England.

In the end you can do what I did and email saying you will take legal action for illegally holding monies which you don't own. They soon emailed back saying the account was now unblocked but I would have to come to the bank with my passport details which I did 2 months later when I arrived in spain !

Yes, I have, probably about 6 times now!

I do get a very quick response from the customer service department, but not from the Bankia branch.

Hopefully, this will get sorted soon.

Well, as a last resort I might have to do that.

Thank you

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Agreed RayD on the subject of language, the onus is on us to try to learn at least some Spanish, that why I am starting taking lessons today.

Hi,

Yes, I agree with you both about learning Spanish.  If I lived in Spain I would definitely learn more Spanish, but I'm still trying to improve it here.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to me and I'm pleased to say my account is now active.

Hi Paula,

Is your Bankia Account at San Miguel salinas?

If it is, try calling Carmen on +34 965 72 00 32, she we will be able to help you (her English is very good)

I hope this helps
