Hi,

I've read the relevant laws for entry to Spain from both countries at the minute:

UK: Stanley Johnson Loophole to prepare property for rental which we can use.

Spain: Force-majeure, can travel if unexpected occurrence such as damage to property etc, etc.

But does anyone know anyone that has actually travelled that is not Spanish or have residency ?

Are the authorities cracking down hard on UK entrants ?

Would like to come next week, but don't want to book if wont get in.

Thanks

Ian

Travel has nothing to do with brexit, its all because of the virus, spainish authorities aren't letting anyone through that isnt a permanent residence without a valid reason, once the restrictions are lifted then flights will be hopefully as normal. I know people have drove here though without any issue so driving here you should fine but personally i wouldnt chance flying anywhere just yet unless its  one way back to place of residence. Also atm its a ghost town so it won't be as socialable as usual.

I think Spain treats all Third country citizens the same, if you feel the authorities cracking down, (your words) this is the real world when you leave the club, you do not get the benefits.

There is no Stanley loophole.

Yes there is.

You can legitimately and lawfully leave the UK to travel abroad to prepare a holiday home for let.

What the country you fly to have in place is a different matter.

Hi Ian,

last time I looked Spain was blocking entry to UK citizens who were not residents. I do not think this has changed. Not sure when Spain will review the entry requirements but I would expect it will be in the next 2-3 weeks. Given the covid status in the UK I cannot see they will keep a travel ban in place.

Unless there is a genuine vital reason for going I would wait until Spain opens up the borders to UK citizens again. It would be a expensive trip if you get turned away at the border.

Rgds,

Aitch

Hi Ian,

We travelled out on the 30th March .We are home owners  but not residents.

We had an appointment with our solicitors and also a business meeting. We had written proof of both and also had to show our nie documents.

Coming back had a PCR and also had to pre book two further once in the UK,you were not allowed to board unless you had this. Then ten days  isolation were track  and trace called most days. I would not recommend this and we will wait until Spain is in the green traffic  area.

Well, how is that a Stanley loophole then ?   When Spain doesn’t  allow you to enter

Hi Ian Our English neighbours & good friends flew in from London last week to Alicante. They brought their title deeds to their villa and their Interhome rental contract with them to show ownership and rentals for July, August & September. no further qeustions asked and waived through with a smile.
