Hi,

I've read the relevant laws for entry to Spain from both countries at the minute:

UK: Stanley Johnson Loophole to prepare property for rental which we can use.

Spain: Force-majeure, can travel if unexpected occurrence such as damage to property etc, etc.

But does anyone know anyone that has actually travelled that is not Spanish or have residency ?

Are the authorities cracking down hard on UK entrants ?

Would like to come next week, but don't want to book if wont get in.

Thanks

Ian

Hi

I travelled on the 3rd April to buy/sign for  a property. I had a letter from my lawyer written up and stamped by the notery to confirm why I was entering Spain.

I showed the passport control. No problem. He didn't like it though 😂.

Good luck!

Hi Lisa,

It really helps if we could have more detail please, e.g. did you fly or drive?  Where did you enter Spain?  Was it UK or Spanish border control who "didn't like it"?

Many thanks,

Kim

We have just drove through the borders no problems, didnt even stop us.

Hi Martyn,

Are you referring to the France/Spain border? Which one please?  Did you arrive in France from the UK?  Ferry or Eurostar?  What docs did you show to prove you could travel at the UK departure and French arrival please?  This level of detail could be really useful to others thinking of trying it - although, as Oadbyman has said, it's no guarantee of success.

Many thanks,

Kim

No check at port?

Which route

Clearly you did it, it does not mean the next person will get through.  The rules are

A 7-day isolation period in a hotel designated by the French authorities, subject to presentation of a booking; So can be costly

Barcelona. We actually rang the embassy before we travelled and they said boarders were open to travel without problems. We had to isolate if we stopped in france without a pcr test, which we didnt because we just stayed in the house. No-one i know has any problems at the boaders got family on both sides and they drive through daily, thats on the spanish and french, Italian and French, Switzerland and all its borders. Friend from Spain has just drove to and from Holland didnt get stopped. And my mate from England just drove down, his paperwork was only checked on the UK side but wasn't asked for residency or anything, just his passport.

I see you materialised in Barcelona, so you did not drive through France, and you replied to a post about traveling through France saying no problem.

No wonder readers on here get confused.

'Friend from Spain has just drove to and from Holland didnt get stopped'

What has that to do with UK passport holders entering France,(via monitored border)?

Yes Kim with helpful posts like Martyn's is it ever any wonder that users of here post the same questions hoping for different answer.

My post told the board the official French view of travelling from UK to France, as an EU citizen

and I now post again with the question I asked so that any one flying or traveling by Ferry to Spain is not confused.

The QUESTION

Simple question which I have tried to find the answer.

I am an Irish national travelling from  the UK via Folkestone Tunnel, with my wife.

Travel through France to other EU countries (Spain or Italy)

Do i have to stop in France in isolation for 7 days or can I travel though France

Thanks

The ANWSER

Dear Sir,

Transiting through France at the present time is not an option due to the current situation (quarantine/national lockdown/curfew). If you must travel, you will have to fly to your final destination.
