I flew into Alicante from UK 2 days ago. The checks at Luton airport were very thorough and they were turning people away if they did not have proof of valid reason. I do have residencia so was fine and I did speak to someone who had proof of home in Murcia and he was fine and also someone who had been burgled and needed to sort his home out and he was also fine but 4 people were turned away at Luton airport as they said they were builders with jobs in Benidorm. I guess they did not have the right written contracts. I just showed my TIE card at Alicante Airport and was directed to auto passport gate but anyone without TIE had to go to manned desk to show proof. Frustrating to say that nobody in Luton or Alicante asked to see my Negative covid test.

Hi,
I've read the relevant laws for entry to Spain from both countries at the minute:
UK: Stanley Johnson Loophole to prepare property for rental which we can use.
Spain: Force-majeure, can travel if unexpected occurrence such as damage to property etc, etc.
But does anyone know anyone that has actually travelled that is not Spanish or have residency ?
Are the authorities cracking down hard on UK entrants ?
Would like to come next week, but don't want to book if wont get in.
Thanks
Ian
Hi Ian,
You're correct that the "Stanley Johnson Loophole" allows you to leave the UK, but it does not allow you to enter Spain. While Spain's State of Alarm is still in place, until 9 May 2021, the country currently allows Spanish citizens and residents to enter Spain. I can find no definition of force majeure given in the official State bulletin, BOE, so I was wondering where you sourced the example you give of "unexpected occurrence such as damage to property etc, etc."? Unless this is from an official Spanish resource, I wouldn't attempt to enter Spain, as a non-resident, before 9 May - you may be lucky, but you may not.
Kind regards,
Kim

Thank you,
This is exactly the post reply I was looking for, someone that has actually done the transit rather than opinion.
Your post is most helpful and we can now decide whether to travel or not.

Hi Ian Our English neighbours & good friends flew in from London last week to Alicante. They brought their title deeds to their villa and their Interhome rental contract with them to show ownership and rentals for July, August & September. no further qeustions asked and waived through wit...

Are your English neighbours Spanish residents? If so, no objections would have been raised on departure or arrival.
UK travel law at the moment does not allow travel unless absolutely necessary, so if they were non-resident in Spain what was the reason given to UK authorities on departure? Was verbal reason given on departure or was written authority obtained to show Border Force on departure?
Did they have to show proof of a PCR/Antigen test on arrival at Alicante airport?
So much ambiguity!
Best.

Hi vinnybear,
I agree with Val0610 in thinking your post was ambiguous. If someone responds, why not say specifically that they are, or are not, residents? The OP said they found the post from Tracy66 "exactly the post reply" they were looking for, even though Tracy very clearly stated that she IS resident in Spain; the OP is non-resident, but they don't suggest Tracy shouldn't have responded.
You directed Val0610 to your second paragraph, but where do you say that your neighbours are non-resident? From your statement, "They brought their title deeds to their villa and their Interhome rental contract with them to show ownership and rentals for July, August & September", are we to assume that they are renting out a villa they own and have come to Spain, two months ahead of their first rental to prepare the property? Or perhaps the property will take a week to prepare and they're using that as an excuse to get around the £5K fine for taking a 2 month holiday?
You may think your post is unambiguous, but the fact that other members are asking for clarification suggests otherwise. It certainly isn't an excuse for you to make an unnecessary and personal insult to another member.

Kim

Can you travel through France to Spain
Clearly NO.
Dear Sir,
Transiting through France at the present time is not an option due to the current situation (quarantine/national lockdown/curfew). If you must travel, you will have to fly to your final destination.
