A couple from the UK who have a holiday home here posted that they drove over ( think it was last week) they only got stopped once and just had to show their NIE and passport and were let through, not sure if it was France or Spain where they got stopped but they had no problems.

RayD, I can quote my source . It is El Pais. Not sure were you get the info that it is in relation to those entering from other Countries. especially as inward travel into Spain at present is severely limited.

Check out the article in El Pais, which also runs another seperate article outlining Gross under reporting of Corona virus deaths in Spanish Care homes..  As The Spanish Government have been tinkering with Corona virus figures this week, or in their terms , 'Introducing a New system' It would indeed be interesting to find the definitive answer to this one

Hi all,

thank you for the responses and interesting conversations. Guess the BIG day at the minute is set at July 1st.

Hopefully get over ASAP after that then, flight prices are pretty static so wont book until it looks like we can actually come.

RayD it is not exactly hard to find , all anyone has to do is type into google ' El Pais', and the articles come straight up !

but if you need help. here it is.

https://english.elpais.com/news/spanish_news/

Nursing Homes unreported deaths news, which is very worrying is currently about 5th article down from the top. Top article detailing the 'remodelling, of statistics in the past week

RayD, no problem. You are most welcome !

Also i may add, purely for Balanced reporting reasons,of course, the articles also give many uncomplimentary statistics referencing Spanish Government actions. The care Homes one, which you have yet to comment on being the most worrying article.

Both in The UK and in Spain, and in many other countries there will be a need for serious reflection on the way the elderly population have been seriously let down during this Pandemic. It's a heartwrenching scandal of immense proportions.

It appears No country is without blame.

Chelsea, At this moment in time, regardless of whether Airlines are taking money for flights out or in this Month no leisure flights are allowed into Mainland Spain. Current signs indicate no flights will be accepted into Spanish mainland until 1st July . This in itself has yet to be confirmed, and travellers from which countries will be allowed in is also yet to be decided.
