Don't you think the biggest problem with the vaccine passport is the fact that WE are in Spain and Spain is so far behind with tha vaccinations that WE will not be able to travel OUT of Spain. Also there is confusion regarding the vaccine here. If you have private health insurance, ie live here b...

...ut not working or above retirement age, then you will not be registered for the vaccine. Many people are in the same boat as me. I retired at 55 and moved to Spain. No medical rights whatsoever since leaving the EU. At least in the UK all you need to do as a foreigner is register with a GP...Here tis isn't the case. So much for a worldwide vaccination program.

Spot on! All this endless chatter about VC Passports but no sign of a jab so far here in Spain. Not sure where we’re heading with all of this. Roll out as slow as our town halls!! Gota get a jab first before PP qualification. No travel anywhere for the forseeable I fear.

We will be lucky to be vaccinated this year, does anyone know someone other than healthcare workers, care home residents and queue jumping politicians who have actually received the vaccine?

I understand all the "endless chatter" about vaccination passports must be frustrating when there no sign of receiving the vaccine. I don't see what's wrong with discussing it though.

I'm quite far down the UK list for vaccination, even for the first dose. I'd be surprised if we can travel this year to Spain and think if there's a barrier to travel it'll be Spain not wanting visitors which I can understand.

Hopefully things will speed up in Spain as we're not all safe until we're all vaccinated. 👍

The jabbing job appears to be getting done successfully here now in the UK, but there allegedly was a lot of pilfering of taxpayers money during the early days of granting contracts for PPE etc.  The flak now seems to be getting aimed at Hancock instead of BoJo. They of course seem to be able to shrug off these allegations, so far, only time will tell if they will be brought to book. It does appear that poor Spain is not getting the same rapid vaccination of the population as we are, and we do sympathise with you all, unable to escape from this dilemma.

We still hope for a way for us to be able to get back to our bolt hole in Santa Pola, and as you point out, tourism may well win the day.

Best wishes  to all involved in this catastrophe.

John,

if that's your belief then I respect your views, but I would bet that the NHS will be around a lot longer than the current government reign and for many government reigns after. Still your safe in Scotland, does'nt the NHS come under the devolved government?

 Aitch.

I agree with so many on this subject . If people wish to travel they then should be able to do so and if a vaccine card/passport /stamp is the way to ensure this then all countries need to agree with one simple method. My daughter has had her 2 vaccines in the UAE and has a Covid card the size of a credit card with dates of the vaccines abs the official stamps .... seems a simple way forward to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As much as I think it's a good idea for vaccination passports on the flip side it does infringe on those who refused  the covet shot. This is a catch 22. I have recieved both shots but that doesn't make me immune just lessen the chances of full blown covet. I'm an Amrican and we have our troubles within on travel.

The UK government on Sky News a few days ago refused to give any detail on what was being discussed regarding vaccination passports. They just kept saying international travel was currently illegal - I think most of us knew that.

Why can't they be open and honest and tell us what's being discussed on our behalf. ...

...

I belive the World Health Organisation are working on something. Hopefully all countries will adopt a common approach but I have a bad feeling that the UK government will come up with their own system that either won't work or won't be recognised by certain countries.

I found this petition which has very few signatures.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/574479

Unfortunately, I also found a petition with 167,000 signatures asking the government NOT to implement a vaccine passport system as it would infringe the human rights of those who don't want the vaccine. Hard to believe........

Spain are discussing vaccination passports along with other countries and I think its the way forward.

Hopefully the UK won't get left behind.

Make your own minds up about the petition above, its just here for info.

I have a friend who lives in Granada and she writes articles for people and companies. Before Christmas I voiced my concerns about a Vaccine Passport and listened to Julia Heartley-Brewer push an MP as to whether is was true or not and he said NO! However, my friend had already procured the paperwork on behalf of the UK Government way before Christmas so a company already had the order for these passports!

Next month, IATA will issue an electronic travel pass to facilitate travel for those vaccinated or with a negative test in an attempt to unblock air traffic and restore people's freedom of movement. World aviation is suffering, European aviation is close to bankruptcy and thousands of people working in the field have no job.Let's hope it works.

I have a question, I live in Spain and will be travelling back to the UK hopefully June time, if I dont get my vaccination from the Spanish health service by then I wont have a vaccination passport, does that mean I wont be allowed back into Spain?
