Next month, IATA will issue an electronic travel pass to facilitate travel for those vaccinated or with a negative test in an attempt to unblock air traffic and restore people's freedom of movement. World aviation is suffering, European aviation is close to bankruptcy and thousands of people work...

It’s difficult booking a flight because one could be positive on the test 72 hours before you travel but I think I read that Ryanair will reimburse or I guess allow to book later with no penalty?  I can’t believe that governments are closing the aviation businesses down,  what do they think they are doing for heaven’s sake! Boris is being overly careful!! Don’t think he will be forgiven at the end of all this, no one else wants his job I know but his experience is making him overly cau!

I have a question, I live in Spain and will be travelling back to the UK hopefully June time, if I dont get my vaccination from the Spanish health service by then I wont have a vaccination passport, does that mean I wont be allowed back into Spain?

Quite possibly not but I don’t know but I believe you’ll need a test 72 hours before your flight date and then another one on day 8 which someone has already written about on here.  I have, here in the UK, already had my 1st Oxford AstraXenica vaccine and have a card to prove it with the batch number on it. Accordingly to an article in the Sun on 18th Feb. although Spain and America are not on the Red List (for having to go in an hotel which will be Gov. appointed  at the cost of £1700) a decision will be made this week of changes to these 2 countries.

If you are staying in Spain until June then I assume you are a Spanish resident, in which case you most certainly would be allowed entry. There will no doubt be some form of restrictions and testing required at either end but June is too far away to say.

The UK "road map" shows us as opening up for overseas travel by mid-May so fingers crossed it will be a lot easier to get in and out by come your June trip.

Aitch.

If countries i.e Spain insist on vaccination before entry then we'll have no choice apart from stay at home.

Whether the vaccine stops you being able to carry and spread virus is one for a scientist. Some believe it will some say its too early to say.

It was discussed in the radio this morning how important it is for everyone to be vaccinated.

If those people who are not vaccinated catch Covid and then pass it to others,  variants are then created. This could then start to reinfect the elderly and those who have already had the vaccine.

Tom OFS. There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about the vaccine passport and about how not being allowed to travel without one is an infringement of a persons rights. No, they have a right to accept or reject the vaccine and bear the consequences of their actions.  Also some members have speculated that in future the government may require citizens to pay for an annual vaccine booster. My take on the subject is this. Firstly there is no requirement, so far, to have a passport to travel because borders are closed. Secondly if it would be required this would be to facilitate travel to another country. In Spain's case to facilitate its tourist industry. Clearly not the government's responsibility since their primary concern is the health of the UK citizens. Thirdly, many individuals who travel to other countries are required by those countries to have a vaccine administered before they are allowed entry (not for Covid19). These vaccines are paid for, not by the NHS but the traveller. I am desperate to travel to Spain and enjoy the country but I am also aware that this is a risk and expense which I may have to bear annually if I am to fulfil my desire.

I agree but the problem will be when Spain will allow us in.

They seem to be well behind us with vaccinations.

Fingers crossed though 😎

Its Spain that are getting left behind , not the UK (as someone quoted earlier in this thread), I have no problem in having a vaccination passport if it means I can travel, haven't had my first one as yet but the UK are looking to have offer a jab to every adult by end of July I believe, hopefully get a few trips in this year.

If the UK are not making vaccination compulsory they cant then insist on a vaccination passport.

For what it's worth I agree with the idea of a vaccination passport, or a stamp in our travel passports to confirm we have been vaccinated and the date.

I don't see why UK governemnt can't insist on people having a vaccination passport - if people elect not to be vaccinated then they stay at home - simple?

What's with your confrontational troll like attitude?

What should I research exactly?

There's people here having a grown up conversation, we don't all agree with each other but most of us are decent enough human beings to respect each others opinion.

Chill out.........

The post above will make little sense. A post has been removed, we were being trolled by rusty196500.

I don't know if it's just his posts that have been removed or if he has been banned.
