Don't be daft, it's not even all eligible voters that signed it & there are still 17.5 million on the other side. Just accept it and make sure we get the best deal.

This is why in dont make comments on her usually you get rude comments like DONT BE DAFT...i wont be coming on here again..
Hi Lyndolores.
Please don't let these type of comments bother you. Emotions are running high but we have every right to our own opinions and this petition is making a statement to parliament if nothing else. We are all free to sign it if we want to. No one is being daft as we all believe what we believe and we voted how we wanted to vote. The outcome has not been what many of us wanted and if it had gone the other way then the Out voters would no doubt be protesting and even petitioning too.
Stay with us please. We are not all the same and if you find anything unacceptable on this forum we do have a report button at the side of each post and we will look into any complaint and remove the reported post if necessary and warn the member who posted it.
Thanks.
Look forward to seeing you on the forum again.

Aren't you being just a bit sensitive here? I meant nothing personal there, but see no reason to apologise. I do object to an admin describing me as emotional and describing my posts as "this type of comment".
My point is that we've had a referendum and 17 Million people voted out. Giving people false hope that a online petition can somehow change this is just wrong, we all know 16 M people voted in, it doesn't need to be repeated on a petition.
We're in a democracy. As it happens I voted in but the choice was out, what needs to happen now is for the best way out to be negotiated in the interests of all, not hand wringing about the past.
Anyway off and ban me if that's the way of it.

I agree with you Graeme.
Your comment was just normal speech as far as I am concerned. I was also remain, but now see the need to get on. A petition results in Parliament having to debate something - nothing more. That takes up the time of MPs who really should be getting on with more important matters.
I suspect we are in the minority.
Please sign my petition to prevent petitions about the EU referendum for at least a year:

I was describing the subject as being an emotional subject where emotions run high. It was not a personal comment. Sorry if you felt it was.
Of course we would not ban anyone for saying what you said we just like people to stay friendly and we all have the right to an opinion.

I agree that the "don't be daft" comment wasn't meant to be offensive, just a figure of speech. I've heard far more offensive remarks than that recently. I do however feel that the comment "MP's should really be getting on with more important matters" was a bit unnecessary. As someone who is not really a political animal. To me the Brexit vote was about the most important vote I've ever made. My vote didn't help as it happened as the leave voters won. For me it was about not just my personal situation as an immigrant from UK living in Spain, but a whole lot more - the future of my children, grandchildren & other young people in a country who will no longer be in the stronger group of the EU. Britain is no longer Great for me. Just my opinion.

The point I was trying to make was that we've had the brexit discussion. The outcome and wishes of the british people was quite clear. Like it or not, MPs should now be considering the best deals for the UK outside of the EU, not distracted by past arguments. Anything else is just not democratic.

Great Britain just voted to become Little England. Immigration was the issue that tipped the result. Fear and Xenophobia has triumphed.
The blame for this lies with both Tory and Labour governments who failed to develop policies to manage it correctly.
A lurch to the Right seems to underway and with it dangerous times.
A massive leap into the dark, let's hope its not over a cliff.
