Hi Allank,

Your solicitor will almost certainly be an expensive way of paying your Non-resident tax.  I used to use:

http://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/

It's worth remembering that, since Brexit, the Non-resident tax rate has increased from 19% to 24%.  If you want to do this yourself, you can download the Modelo 210 from Agencia Tributaria's website, but you may need a digital certificate to submit it.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks for that. I am aware of the organisation SpanishTaxForms and may be tempted but as a qualified UK accountant its something I'd like to do myself.

I agree with you that my solicitor is an expensive way to do it but we haven't had the house long and she did it last time without pre-notifying me.

So I want to let her know not to do it but thought I'd check out what's needed before I burn my boats.

It does seem that I will need a digital certificate and looking at the steps involved it also seems that I'll need to be in Spain to get my ID confirmed at an appropriate office.

Thanks for the help.

Allank

Hi again,

I'm hoping to be in Spain in September now so would like to organise this digital certificate.

Do you know where I need to go to get one or to get documents certified?
