90 day rule

You are allowed to stay in Spain for 90 days in a rolling 180 days.

Surely it's simple to understand. If you have been living in the EU since December 30th 2020 and you don't have residency, in the country you are living in you must leave before 31st March as your 90 days are up.

Yes it is simple to understand as you put it !!!!!!  But I have been told recently a different story from a good source,  in the future it may pay you not to be so rude!!!!

The rule was there before for the UK but the Spanish police did not enforce it because we were still in the EU, but now we are out it applies more for people and cars. Very soon you will not see so many British reg cars after March. It's very sad for the UK who have holiday homes and who have lived here for a long time. The only exception is if you have a work permit, if your in college etc.

I have read so many posts from people asking about this 90 day rule and naturally everyone knows about the 90 rule but there is a pandemic with lockdowns everywhere so it’s perfectly understandable why English people are asking. I sincerely believe that the Spanish government should release information on this subject and there is still time for them to do so.  Fear of catching covid is on everyone’s mind and so many people are happily self isolating in their Spanish homes so are scared to go home to the U.K.  

It needs to be clarified. As an elderly person I’d probably take the chance and stay put. I genuinely do not this Spain will deport anyone. Possibly a fine but the ridiculous cost of quarantining in England or Scotland is almost the same so I’d take the risk. On the other hand, my husband probably wouldn’t !   My heart goes out to all of you. I hope some light is cast on this subject soon.
