So the 250000 to 400000 estimated unregistered Brits in Spain that dont contribute anything to the economy, where do they live do they not pay rent electricity gas water suma go shopping for food, buy drink in the bars. It's not right that they are unregistered but its untrue to say that they dont contribute anything.

But here we go again a bit of banter turns into brexit and political disseminations. 

Ray I would have thought the main net loss to the Spanish state is unpaid taxes rather than health care. Correct me if I'm wrong - and I may be - but is treatment under both SIP and EHIC not charged back to the NHS?

However, either way it will be interesting to see if the authorities start checking and cracking down on unregistered Brits after 31.12.20 or whether nothing will change and the "they need the Brits or Spain folds" brigade are proved right.

It would only take a couple of examples in the Olive Press or EWN to see some degree of panic in the English bars of some towns!
