just to correct you, I was told in no uncertain terms by a legal person that there is no such meaning as road "accidents", they are road incidents, meaning that the majority of these incidents should never have happened and are completely avoidable if only humans control their overtly aggressive ...

Re-deaths due to bad driving.

I think it’s a rather one sided approach claiming the accident to be an incident wholly attributed to the drivers.

Many  accidents are caused by unsupervised children with zero road sense running out into on coming traffic, giving the said motorist no chance of avoiding said child.

In no way is this the drivers fault, only avoidable if the child concerned was educated in road sense and then properly supervised when near the road/traffic.

The cost could be perhaps passed onto the parents.

Hi MRT1973,

Whilst I might expect a "legal person", especially if they worked for an insurance company, to insist that these are "incidents", I don't agree with the implication that everyone drives around deliberately looking to cause an "incident".

In any event, diverting the discussion to semantics in respect of how to describe road deaths misses the point I was making about people's genuine concern regarding Covid-19.

Kind regards,

Kim

However it is "described" as an incident or accident. I can only refer to UK law as an indicator. ie Road Traffic Act 1988 (as opposed to Insurance companies), which in law (the insurance companies have to refer to):

Hi V2,

It was a little difficult reading the Road Traffic Act on my mobile, but I counted 8 "accidents" and not a single "incident".  Good to see that UK legislators don't think drivers are using pedestrians, or inanimate objects, for target practice! 🤣

So I was in my car, and I was driving along, and my boss rang up, and he said
'You've been promoted.' And I swerved.
And then he rang up a second time and said "You've been promoted again.'
And I swerved again.
He rang up a third time and said 'You're managing director.'
And I went into a tree.
And a policeman came up and said 'What happened to you?'
And I said 'I careered off the road.

A man meet a faith healer. The faith healer said: How is your brother?

The man said he is ill. The faith healer said no no no he just thinks he is ill.

The man said that his brother was really ill

The faith healer said no no no he just thinks he is ill.

The man said that his brother was ill, he looks ill.

Two weeks later the man meet the faith healer again. The faith healer said: How is your brother?

The man said oh he thinks he is dead!
