I read an article that said the Airlines are trying to lobby the Government to suspend the law that entitles you to a refund and change it to Airline vouchers. Someone else reported they booked a flight with Portugal TAP and were promised a refund twice, only for a Airline voucher to be given.
If that is the case it would make sense for the Airline industry to delay refund claims, hoping to conserve cash.
Although they know flights on most of their routes are cancelled, one American airline is only cancelling flights 24 hours before departure as part of their refund delaying tactics,

I agree. I also think they are trying to conserve cash. Problem being if they do go into a form insolvency ie
liquidation or administration, we would struggle to get our monies back unless we paid on credit card. I was promised a refund within 7 days which was over two weeks ago. Now they have shut down all their customer services helpline so you can't get to speak with anyone in anycase.
