Yes, you do get your deeds with a mortgage, I purchased in 2004, and received my deeds through my solicitor in 2005.

You should get copia simple of the deeds which is sufficient to perform other official tasks in spain.The deeds do not really take that long.My solicitor was sitting on mine for about 5 months.Any problems speak to the notary I did and it led to me getting my original deeds etc.
