A ridiculous and ill-informed response.  To say any of the houses are "near-slum" is just wildly inaccurate and although there are some large houses on the urb, to call any of them opulent is just ridiculous.  Obviously you do not live on the urb so I suggest you let people who do actually live on the urb give their opinions which are more likely to be better informed and probably more helpful.

Another ridiculous response from someone who clearly doesn't live on the La Marina urbanisation.  Very few, if any, houses on the urb are owned by the local council so to call it "the largest council estate in Europe" is just inaccurate and ill-informed.  To say that the residents are 95% British is also inaccurate and ill-informed.  The Brits may be in the majority but there is a very good mix of nationalities, notably German, Scandnavian, Dutch, Irish, French and an increasing number of Spanish locals.  Let the residents of the urb give a more balanced opinion and those that choose to live in other areas should perhaps keep their ill-informed opinions to themselves.

That is just a quote from another person/persons who are also not aware of the facts.

You are upsetting alot of people on here with your remarks........not that you appear bothered.

Elli2626,

I was going to make a comment here, but no need you have said it all.

We love it here for all the same reasons and I totally agree with you about the Urbanisation.

We are an American Norwegian couple that bought a place in La Mata, Torrevieja in April. We think we've hit a goldmine! I know there are a few places for sale there. Check out Los Leandros fase 4, Calle Jaen.
